The Job
Job duties include teaching water aerobics to all ages. The Water Aerobics Instructor reports to the Assistant Aquatics Director with other supervision from the Aquatics Director and indirect supervision of the Community Services Director. The Water Aerobics Instructor directs all phases of water aerobics to ensure the safety of all that participate. The Water Aerobics Instructor also performs other duties as assigned or directed.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:
  • Applicant should be able to work morning, early afternoon, late afternoon, and evening hours as determined by the aerobics schedule
  • High school graduate or GED
  • Must enjoy water and working with people of all ages
  • Should be a strong swimmer who is a self-starter capable of following through on assignments and duties assigned
If necessary, we will train qualified applicants. Preferred certifications include
  • CPR
  • First Aid
  • Water Aerobics certification from a national certifying agency
Selection Process
The selection process will consist of an application screening with the most qualified candidates being invited to participate in a personal interview. Appointment is subject to successful completion of background investigation as well as a city-paid, pre-employment, post-offer physical examination and drug screening.
