Start a new holiday tradition with a book reading and movie in December
SHOW LOW, Ariz. (November 29, 2016) – Show Low Public Library presents two free events to kick off the first annual, family-friendly Polar Express Night with a reading by Show Low Police Chief Joe Shelley of the beloved children’s book, The Polar Express, on Thursday, Dec. 15, from 6:15 to 8 p.m. at the library, 181 N. 9th Street. This inaugural annual tradition will be followed by a Movie Night at the Library (showing the computer-animated musical fantasy film version of The Polar Express) on Thursday, Dec. 22, at 6:15 p.m. At the Dec. 15 reading, Chief Shelley will be accompanied by a special surprise guest bearing goodies for all the children and everyone will be treated to Christmas cookies and hot chocolate. In addition, every child will receive a train ticket to the Polar Express plus a bell of their own (both key elements of the storyline).
This promises to be the start of an annual family tradition to get everyone in the Christmas spirit. To learn more about these events, call (928) 532-4070, go to www.showlowaz.gov/library or send an email to library@showlowaz.gov.
