LOW, Ariz. (August 27, 2018) – Learn basic BMX racing skills at Show Low’s BMX fall
clinics with Introductory Clinic 1 (The Basics) on Wednesday, Sept, 5, from 4 to
5 p.m. or Monday, Oct. 1, from 4 to 5 p.m. Each one-hour class will teach bike
fit and maintenance, safety equipment and proper fit, basic pedaling/pedals
level, introduction to the track, obstacle names, basic pumping and balancing
on the gate. Introductory Clinic 2 (Getting the Hang of It) follows on Monday, Sept.
10, from 4 to 5 p.m. or Monday, Oct. 8, from 4 to 5 p.m. The one-hour class
will teach how the race works and how to read “moto” sheets, and introduces the
rider to local BMX rules and programs, USA BMX programs, bunny-hopping and
setting a foundation, basic turns and pump laps. New riders must complete introductory
clinics (both 1 and 2) before continuing with the BMX camp or future clinics. Loaner
bikes and helmets are available for use. The clinics will be held at the Show
Low BMX track at Nikolaus Homestead Park, 1001 E Mills. Cost per participant is
