Aquatic Center Lifeguard
The City of Show Low announces recruitment for the position of an Aquatic Center Lifeguard.

The Job
The lifeguard assumes certain responsibilities primarily the safety of recreational swimmers. The lifeguard reports to the Aquatics Coordinator with the indirect supervision by the Recreation Supervisor. The lifeguard performs other duties as assigned or directed.

Qualifications include the ability to:
  • Effectively meet and deal with the public
  • Communicate verbally and in writing
  • Handle stressful situations
Applicant must be able to:
  • Be a self-starter who is capable of following through on assignments and duties assigned
  • Enjoy the water and be a strong swimmer
  • Take this position seriously as the safety of all participants is the primary responsibility
  • Work morning, early afternoon, late afternoon, and evening hours as determined by the schedule

Preferred certifications include:
  • CPR
  • First Aid
  • Lifeguard training
  • Water Safety Instructor
If necessary we will train qualified applicants.

Selection Process
The selection process will consist of an application screening with the most qualified candidates being invited to participate in a personal interview. An appointment is subject to successful completion of background investigation as well as a city-paid, pre-employment, post-offer physical examination and drug screening.
