One-on-one classes pair a parent with a child, ages 3 to 5
SHOW LOW, Ariz. (September 28, 2015) – Help your child ages 3 to 5 get ready to play organized sports (basketball, soccer and basketball) through the popular Start Smart programs, presented by Show Low Parks and Recreation. The innovative step-by-step approach teaches basic motor skills by pairing a child with a parent to build the child’s confidence and self-esteem in a fun and safe sports environment. The programs, created by the National Alliance for Youth Sports, teach children and their parents skills in dribbling/ball handling, passing/catching, shooting, batting, running/agility and more. Each three-week session costs $20 per child/parent team, with basketball offered Nov. 4 through 18, soccer offered Dec. 2 through 16 and baseball offered Jan. 6 through 20 (or sign up for all three for the low price of $50 per team). All classes will be held Wednesdays from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the City Campus gym, 620 E. McNeil. Register at the Recreation department at Show Low City Hall, 180 N. 9th Street, at the Family Aquatic Center, 1100 W. Deuce of Clubs, or online at www.activityreg.com.
