[ARCHIVED] Show Low Shines with Annual Light Parade, a Stopover by Santa and Tree-Lighting at City Hall

Show Low, Ariz. (October 7, 2015) – Kick off your holiday festivities with Show Low’s annual Electric Light Parade on Saturday, Dec. 5, beginning at 6 p.m. along the Deuce of Clubs. Everyone will relish the many floats with their beautiful light displays. And the kids won’t want to miss seeing Santa waving to the crowd as he takes a quick break from his workshop at the North Pole. For businesses, community groups and families, the parade is an ideal way to show off your creativity in depicting this year’s theme, “Let it Snow.” Parade entries are being accepted until Dec. 1 with a $20 entry fee. Parade winners have a chance to vie for cash prizes, so it’s not too early to start designing your float. Parade applications are available at Show Low city hall, 180 N. 9th Street, or the aquatic center, 1100 W. Deuce of Clubs. For more information about this year’s Show Low Shines parade, call (928) 532-4141.

At the conclusion of the parade, head on over to Show Low city hall at 180 N. 9th Street for the annual Christmas tree-lighting ceremony, sponsored by Show Low Main Street, at 7 p.m. The community tree will be adorned with ornaments hand-crafted by Show Low’s elementary school students. Come enjoy both events and get into the spirit of the season!
