Every school year, third graders at Nikolaus Homestead Elementary School participate in a city-sponsored, yearlong educational program called Kids ROCK (Kids Reach Out for Community Knowledge), which teaches students about local government and explains what it means to be a “good citizen.” The program includes a poster contest where students illustrate their idea of “Community Pride.” We are pleased to present this year’s top three winners, drawn by Alexis Lies (1st place), Camryn McGinnis (2nd) and Ryan Wehnau (3rd).
Join us in congratulating these budding artists, who were recognized and presented with prizes at a televised City Council meeting in April.
