SHOW LOW, Ariz. (May 12, 2016) – Take a healthy hike this summer, free of charge, on selected Monday mornings between May and September, accompanied by Show Low Parks and Recreation staff. Eight hikes are planned, with participants meeting promptly at the designated trailhead at 7:45 a.m. to begin the hike.
Because each of the eight trails is designated “moderate” to “difficult,” hikers should be capable of hiking four to five miles at a regular pace. Hiking shoes are highly recommended. Come equipped with water and snacks. No dogs or pets are allowed on group hikes. For everyone’s safety, participants are required to stay with the group at all times and remain on designated trails—no shortcuts.
Pick up a schedule of the planned hikes and a Trail System Guide at the recreation desk at Show Low City Hall, 180 N. 9th Street. Trailhead maps can be found at www.tracks-pinetop-lakeside.org. For more information, call (928) 532-4140.
