$11,682 awarded by the Arizona State Library
SHOW LOW, Ariz. (May 26, 2016) – Show Low Public Library was awarded $11,682 from the Arizona State Library, Archives and Public Records, a division of the Secretary of State. This grant will fund the redesign of the children’s area, including purchasing more comfortable seating and hands-on, interactive learning activities.
This grant is a fraction of more than $800,000 awarded in Arizona for various library projects, made possible by federal funds from the Institute of Museum and Library Services. “Libraries are listening to their communities and creating programs to meet the needs of the population,” said Arizona Secretary of State Michele Reagan. “In addition to their traditional services, libraries are transforming, offering not only traditional book services, but adding programs to educate and engage all ages through traditional, digital and social means. The libraries receiving awards this spring reflect the transformation taking place in libraries statewide.” For more information, visit the Show Low Public Library at 181 N. 9th Street, call (928) 532-4070, go to www.showlowaz.gov/library or email library@showlowaz.gov.
