Joe Cool knows a library card is the coolest card in your wallet
SHOW LOW, Ariz. (August 25, 2016) – A public library card is your ticket to free educational resources and activities that bring families together. September is National Library Card Sign-up Month, with national spokesperson Joe Cool—the world-famous beagle aka Snoopy—reminding everyone that a library card is the coolest card in your wallet. In celebration, Show Low Public Library at 181 N. 9th Street has scheduled fun, family-oriented activities in September, including visits from therapy dogs, a Movie Night at the Library featuring The Peanuts Movie (a 2015 3D computer-animated comedy), and a pet adoption event on Sept. 30 in partnership with Pet Allies. Also, throughout the month, the library will accept Pet Food for Fees (1 lb. of dry or canned pet food “pays” $1 in library fees).
You can depend on Show Low Public Library for materials, programs and the coolest library staff around that support academic achievement. You can gain access to free online tutoring through the library’s website at showlowaz.gov/library. The library also offers early literacy storytimes for preschool age children, computer and technology classes for teens and adults, and monthly events, including book clubs and author events. There’s something for everyone at the library and it’s all free with a library card.
