Show Low, AZ (May 31, 2017) – Try out the Olympic sport of BMX at the Show Low BMX Track at Nikolaus Homestead Park, 1001 E. Mills, on Saturday, June 10, at a free BMX Olympic Day Race. First-time riders can enjoy a free introduction to BMX from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., with registration/practice from 3:30 to 4:30 p.m., followed by the races. There is no cost to participate. Any bike can be outfitted to suit BMX racing, but a few adjustments may be required to make them safer. The kickstand and any reflector brackets need to be removed, and riders are required to wear long pants, long-sleeved shirts, enclosed shoes and a helmet. Loaner bikes and helmets will be available.
