Three free writing workshops offered to help aspiring writers
SHOW LOW, Ariz. (October 19, 2017) – To celebrate National Novel Writing Month (dubbed “NaNoWriMo”), Show Low Public Library at 181 N. 9th Street is offering three free writing workshops in November, with support from local authors to assist aspiring writers achieve their goals. The first workshop on Tuesday, Nov. 7, at 1 p.m. is “Creative Writing,” introducing local authors who will talk about their writing experiences and answer questions about the creative writing process. The second workshop on Tuesday, Nov. 14, at 1 p.m. is “Self-publishing,” with participants learning about self-publishing resources and local authors sharing their journeys with publishing. Both the first and second workshops will be at least one hour long. The final workshop, on Tuesday, Nov. 28, called a “NaNoWriMo Write-in” is akin to an open house, beginning at 9 a.m. Local writers are welcome to come and go throughout the day until 5:30 p.m. to write and share their ideas with one another. November is National Novel Writing Month, when writers from all over the world annually participate in writing a 50,000-word novel online in one month. Through the NaNoWriMo website (at www.nanowrimo.org), writers can interact with other participants, earn achievement badges, have access to online writing resources, and track their progress while participating in this non-profit event.
