SHOW LOW, Ariz. (June 19, 2018) – Bring out
the creativity in your child, ages 4 to 8, through a series of free art
activities on select Wednesdays from 1 to 2:30 p.m. in June and July at Show
Low Public Library, 181 N. 9th Street. On June 27, introduce your child to
string art; on July 11, it is garden art with stones; on July 18, learn to make
a puppet; and on July 25, kids make mosaics using Perler beads (plastic fusible beads).
Because of space limitations, pre-registration is required by visiting the
library or calling (928) 532-4070. The classes are made possible by a generous
donation from the Giggling Gwen Foundation, established in memory of its namesake, Gwen Van Kirk, to fund arts
programs in Arizona that foster creativity, imagination and joy in young
children. Gwen, who died in 2010 at age 5, is best remembered for her love of art and contagious giggle.
