SHOW LOW, Ariz. (August 28, 2018) – Waste
Management’s service schedule for the
City of Show Low’s residential customers remains unchanged despite next
Monday’s Labor Day holiday. Residents are asked to place polycarts at curbside
according to the usual schedule. Carts should be positioned four feet from any
other objects, including fences, mailboxes, parked vehicles and other carts, so
that it can be serviced safely.
Safety is critical to Waste Management every
day of the year. The holiday is a good time to remind children to give trucks
plenty of space to operate. Encourage kids to watch safely from a distance and
help them understand what it means to stay 15 feet from a truck. Remind
children never to try to touch a working trash truck, even if it is stopped.
They should never try to add something to a cart while it is being serviced. If
a ball (or a pet) disappears under the truck, they should not chase it. Get the
driver’s attention and wait until the driver indicates it is safe to approach
the truck.
Anyone hosting an
outdoor celebration over the weekend is asked to designate a separate container
to gather plastic bottles and cans for recycling. Place it near the trash but
clearly label as recycling only (“Recycle empty plastic bottles and cans”).
Keep food, liquids, plastic bags, glass bottles and trash out of the recycling.
As a reminder, excess
trash collection is the following week from Monday, Sept. 10, through Thursday,
Sept. 13.
The City of Show Low
and Waste Management thanks everyone for helping to keep our community safe,
clean and green! For more information, call (928) 532-4000.
