[ARCHIVED] Local Citizen Wins National Award for Supporting the Developmentally Disabled

Award from National Association of Councils on Developmental Disabilities

SHOW LOW, Ariz. (September 18, 2018) – Show Low Mayor Daryl Seymore, on behalf of the city, recently congratulated Show Low resident Scott Lindbloom for receiving a nationally-recognized Champion of Equal Opportunity: Start Your Journey award for sharing and promoting the values of self-determination, independence, productivity and inclusion of the developmentally disabled in Arizona. Lindbloom traveled to Washington, DC to accept the award presented by the National Association of Councils on Developmental Disabilities.

            

The National Association of Councils on Developmental Disabilities is the umbrella organization for the 56 Councils on Developmental Disabilities across the United States and its territories. The 56 Councils receive federal funding to support programs that assist individuals in the U.S. with developmental disabilities. Lindbloom was nominated for the prestigious honor by Michael Leyva, Contracts/Grants Coordinator for the Arizona Developmental Disabilities Planning Council.
