[ARCHIVED] ‘Cook The Books’ Club Meets Jan. 28 for Foodies Who Love To Read, Eat And Savor a Good Read

A book club for gastronomic fiction

SHOW LOW, Ariz. (January 8, 2019) – The monthly “Cook the Books” club for adults (18 years and older) who love novels set in the world of gastronomy will meet Monday, Jan. 28, from 10 to 11 a.m. in the meeting room at Show Low Public Library, 181 N. 9th Street. The novel, “Garden Spells” by Sarah Addison Allen, features successful caterer Claire Waverley who owns a magical apple tree in her backyard. The book is not the traditional cooking/baking mystery, but does include horticultural folklore and information about using herbs for medicinal purposes. Check out and read the book before the Jan. 28 meeting, then meet with fellow readers to discuss the book and enjoy a delicious edible tied to the story. No registration is required.
