[ARCHIVED] Free Science and Literacy Workshop on Feb. 28 for Children (3-10 Years) and Parents/Caregivers

Explore the elements of physical balance

SHOW LOW, Ariz. (January 25, 2019) – A free science and literacy workshop, called Leap into Science, will be presented to children, ages 3 to 10 years, and their parent or caregiver on Thursday, Feb. 28, from 6:15 to 8 p.m. in the event room at Show Low Public Library, 181 N. 9th Street. The workshop explores the elements of balance, both through the eyes of a scientist and through hands-on activities. Using a series of activity stations in an open-floor format, participants investigate the concept of balance together by balancing their bodies, exploring balancing games and toys, and creating balanced structures. Refreshments will be provided.

Leap into Science is a nationwide program that integrates open-ended science activities with children’s books, enabling children and their parents/caregivers to collaborate and learn together. The program is provided by The Franklin Institute Science Museum, a science museum and the center of science education and research in Philadelphia (Penn.) founded in 1824 and named after the American scientist and statesman, Benjamin Franklin.

No preregistration if required. For more information, call (928) 532-4070.
