[ARCHIVED] Celebrate National Engineering Week At Nasa@ My Library Mini Camps in February

All ages can have fun learning about engineering

SHOW LOW, Ariz. (January 29, 2019) – Celebrate National Engineering Week at four mini camps, geared for various ages, at Show Low Public Library, 181 N. 9th Street. On Tuesday, Feb. 19, from 4 to 5 p.m., children ages 6 to 14 are invited to a special LEGO club to learn about and engineer catapults using LEGOs. On Wednesday, Feb. 20, from 10 to 10:30 a.m., a special engineering-themed Itsy Bitsy Storytime for ages 0 to 3 years includes a story and building something fun. On Thursday, Feb. 21, from 4 to 5 p.m., girls of all ages can celebrate “National Introduce a Girl to Science Day” at a girls-only special STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics) program to experiment with different types of engineering activities. On Friday, Feb. 22, from 3 to 4 p.m., all ages can watch a special presentation by the City of Show Low engineering department about the city’s drone with a live demonstration of the drone in action.

All the activities are funded by a NASA@ My Library grant, with Show Low the only library in Arizona chosen by the National Aeronautics and Space Administration. Preregistration is not required.  For more information, call (928) 532-4070.
