Learn how to string fresh flowers into a wearable lei
SHOW LOW, Ariz. (February 4, 2019) – Adults ages 18 years and older can learn to make a lei using fresh Hawaiian flowers on Wednesday, Feb. 27, at 10:30 a.m. at Show Low Public Library, 181 N. 9th Street. In addition to a hands-on demonstration showing how to string flowers into a beautiful garland, instructor Bunny Halverson of Halau O Kanoelani (a local hula group) will talk about the different types of lei, how to wear one properly and how to dispose a lei with respect. The workshop is free, but preregistration is required by Friday, Feb. 22, as class size is limited. All materials will be provided by Arizona Aloha Festival and Hawaii Flower Lei.
