Daryl Seymore chosen to replace Supervisor Steve Williams
Show Low, AZ (November 15, 2019) – At the November 12th Navajo County Board of Supervisors meeting, District IV Supervisor Steve Williams submitted his resignation, effective December 15, 2019. Supervisor Williams was recently appointed by Governor Doug Ducey to serve on the Arizona Court of Appeals, and he recommended that Daryl Seymore, Mayor for the City of Show Low, be appointed to fill his seat on the Board of Supervisors representing District IV. The Board voted to appoint Mayor Seymore, effective December 16, 2019. He will continue to serve as Show Low’s mayor until the end of his term (December 2020), while also serving the remainder of Supervisor Williams’ term on the Board of Supervisors. Mayor Seymore intends to run for the District IV Supervisor seat in the fall 2020 election.
Mayor Seymore’s involvement in the community has earned the respect and admiration of his fellow Council members and the citizens he serves. As mayor, he has demonstrated outstanding leadership qualities and professionalism and is respected as a consensus builder. He is well versed on issues that are important to District IV, such as forest health, valuable partnerships, and fiscal responsibility. His service as a County Supervisor will be a valuable benefit to the citizens of District IV.
