[ARCHIVED] Show Low Citizens Reminded to Keep Streets Clear During Snowstorms

Weather Update

With winter weather upon us, Show Low citizens are reminded that all city roadways must be clear of vehicles and trash cans (polycarts) during active snow plowing operations.  Any vehicle usually parked on a city street must be moved off the road by the time the snow falls, and the plows begin operating.   This includes polycarts and trash cans, which create an additional hazard for snowplow operators because they can be challenging to see and avoid during storm conditions.  To keep everyone safe during severe weather conditions when plows can operate 24 hours a day, we ask for our citizens' help to keep streets clear.   Obstructions in the roadways pose a danger and make it impossible to plow the road entirely and successfully.   Section 18-3-1 of the Show Low City Code states that owners of vehicles parked on the street while the snowplows are working may be cited and/or their vehicles towed at the owner's expense.  Let's work together to help everyone be safe during and after snowstorms.  Questions can be directed to the City of Show Low Public Works Department at (928) 532-4100.
