FEMA Special Flood Hazard Area Information

The City of Show Low participates in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) that is administered by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). The NFIP is a group of private insurance companies that offer flood insurance to property owners. The City of Show Low is a proud member of the program and is committed to enforce sound floodplain management standards.

The City of Show Low has adopted requirements and standards for the development in the special flood hazard area’s in our community. These standards can be viewed in Chapter 19 (PDF) of our City Code.

Any questions regarding the NFIP or the FEMA designated special flood hazard areas in the City of Show Low can be directed to our Floodplain Administer, City Engineer Shane Hemesath at 928-532-4000. The City of Show Low maintains flood records, development drainage information, and records of completed Elevation Certificates for our citizens.
