Forest Health & Wildfire Mitigation
Homeowner & Builder Assistance
The City of Show Low along with the University of Arizona, Navajo County Cooperative Extension offers assistance to the residents of Show Low in a number of ways. Several staff members are available to confer with homeowners or home builders about existing homes or proposed residential structures. They are professionals with a great deal of experience in forest health, fire suppression, and mitigation. If you have questions about the condition of the vegetation on your property, feel free to call to arrange a time for an appointment.
The staff is also available to meet with a Home Owners Association (HOA), developers, or contractors to assist in neighborhood plans for forest health and wildfire mitigation on a neighborhood-wide or subdivision basis. The staff works closely with the Forestry Division of the Arizona State Land Department, the U.S. Forest Service and local fire districts, and will coordinate with those groups in offering assistance.
Grant Programs
The City of Show Low and the Cooperative Extension Office also offer forest health and fire mitigation cost share grant programs to residents and property owners. If you have any questions please call Lloyd Wilmes at 928-367-4588 or the Navajo County Cooperative Extension Office at 928-524-6271.
