Engineering Division

The Engineering Division is responsible for overseeing the planning, design, and construction of the City’s streets, sewers, water distribution system, drainage ways, and public buildings/facilities.

The Engineering Department is responsible for providing professional civil engineering design and project management support services to all City departments. It also provides technical engineering advice, analyses, drafting and mapping services, engineering designs, inspections, infrastructure planning, and construction management. It further provides a review and inspection of public infrastructure improvement plans associated with private development.

The City of Show Low utilizes Maricopa Association of Governments Standard Specifications and Details for Public Works Construction.  The City also has developed a City of Show Low Supplement in addition to those standards that are specific to our environment and area.

If you would like to complete work in the right of way adjacent to your property, please download and complete the Right of Way Permit before starting your project. Completed permit applications and submit to the City for review.   

The Engineering Department also serves as the City’s FEMA floodplain administrator.  We can assist citizens navigate development in the FEMA Special Flood Hazard Areas within the City and answer any questions.  To obtain information regarding a FEMA floodplain located near your parcel, please fill out the Floodplain Status Request Form and submit to the City.
